This photograph of Walter Johnston and his mother-in-law (Kathleen's mother) Beryl Bucklin was taken on Pre's Trail, in Eugene, Oregon. Named after Steve Prefontaine, one of the U.S.'s premier distance runners, the trail was one of his favorite running places.
