| A series of four 5k races in the months of January and February. The Winter Series has been around in one form or another for about as long as the Orange Runners Club has and arose to fill a need to test our ability to brave the elements and fitness level at the time of year when many runners have put the running shoes up or have traded outside running activity for trips to the gym. Yes - there are other people like you who are willing to get back outdoors and feel the Winter's elements and some competition, in their face!
We invite you to come out and participate in this year's Winter Series and run in the serene beauty that is with us during the winter season. The race dates above all take place on the Middletown Community Campus which is open but not heavily trafficked and so ideal for a road race. The surface is all pavement but being winter there is chance for hazards such as snow, water and ice that can make it potentially more of a challenge. So, Run Smart, and ask an ORC member for winter running tips that I am sure they would be glad to share. |
